Family Child Care

The Army Family Child Care (FCC) Program is a child care option provided on and off Post by authorized military family members as independent contractors.  FCC providers and their homes must meet specific requirements and are certified by the Garrison.

COME TO THE
FAMILY CHILD CARE
ORIENTATION BRIEFING

Family Child Care Orientation Briefs are offered on the 4 th Friday of each month at the Child & Youth Services Building #847, located just behind the Chapel.  They run from 1000-1100am.  Karol Blessing is the FCC Director.  If you have any questions she can be reached at 873-4593.

A note about Unauthorized Care:

There are several types of child care on an installation which do not have to be provided by certified FCC providers.  These include child care provided:

  • in a child development center (CDC)
  • by the parent, guardian, or blood relatives or care provided in the home of the parents guardian or blood relatives
  • by individuals in their homes when it does not exceed 10 child care hours per week on a regular basis
  • through Supplemental Programs and Services such as Volunteer Child Care in Unit Settings (VCCUS), Short Term Alternative Child Care (STACC)

If a report is sent to the FCC office that unauthorized care is being conducted on Post, the FCC Director has three working days to investigate the report.  If it is found to be true a letter will be sent to the Garrison Commander informing him that this individual is in fact doing unauthorized care.  The family could lose their government housing privileges as a result.  This could be a very serious financial problem for someone who is found to be doing unauthorized child care.

I hope to see you at our next Orientation Brief
